Cherry GmbH is the innovation and technology leader in computer input devices and the global market leader in mechanical keyboards. The company develops and manufactures solutions for the end customer market (e.g. in the medical sector) and for the business sector. Lean processes and flat hierarchies have been at the heart of Cherry's innovative products, consistent growth and increasing profitability for over 60 years. Following their departure from the ZF Group as an independent company, Cherry decided to upgrade their space and invest in a new facility in Auerbach.

Implementation and challenge

MPS ARCHONIC was commissioned to develop a master plan and a subsequent production and logistics plan for the new building. Current and future requirements were addressed as was modernisation potential, for example, planning design for an automated guided vehicle system (AGV). Economic and technical aspects, in particular investments, were benchmarked and ducumented for the client as a basis for decision-making.
