Hörmann has been family-owned for four generations. August Hörmann, who already had roots in the craft of door-making and founded the Bielefeld Steel Doors Factory in 1935, was known for his passion for technology and keen eye for quality – characteristics that brought him success. Within a few years, Hörmann became a regional supplier of modern steel doors.

Today, the Hörmann Group is managed by the fourth generation, the great-grandsons of company founder August Hörmann, and is Europe’s leading supplier of doors. The personally liable partners are Martin J. Hörmann and Christoph Hörmann.

As part of its Chinese strategic expansion, Hörmann decides to invest and built its 3rd production facility (1st in south China) in Changshu, China. This facility integrates three core centers: production hall, warehouse, and office administration building, to advance the production, sales support and after-market services especially for the south China market.

Hörmann is the only manufacturer on the international market to offer a complete range of essential construction components for building and modernization from a single source. Our products are manufactured in highly specialized factories using state-of-the-art technology and meet the most stringent standards regarding quality, innovation, safety and design. In addition, we’re always working intensively on new products, developments and improvements to detail, and have been highly respected on the market for decades thanks to our numerous patents and unique selling points.

Implementation and challenge
